Pastor Lephen Kumar of South Carolina was born and raised in India, where he worked as a school teacher, a pastor, and a director of a non-profit organization. His involvement in school education and child and community development continues to embrace and uplift his theological training.
Growing up as a pastor’s son, Lephen felt the call to commit his life to ministry after high school. He knew the Lord was calling him to serve and preach the gospel, realizing this call involved more of an international mission, which can be seen in his work in the church he pastors here in South Carolina.
A friend introduced Lephen to chaplaincy and clinical pastoral education. Lephen’s new ministry helped him connect with people enduring injuries, diseases, and end-of-life while allowing him to slow down and open his heart and mind to the suffering. Patients need someone to walk alongside them, and Lephen becomes their person.
